Avida Dollars
For her senior thesis at Harvard University, Maeve wrote, directed, and shot a film loosely structured by Salvador Dalí’s tarot deck. Alongside this film, Maeve wrote a thesis about the deck which is available upon request. The film is about a young woman, Rose, who meets another college student Avida at a party. Avida gives Rose a tarot reading which sets Rose on a path of obsession with both Avida and Dalí. Although the romance with Avida remains unreciprocated, research into Dalí and his alleged gay romance proves fruitful and results in a stunning animation which Rose presents as her senior thesis. Overall, this is a film about love in all its forms and the turmoil of ending a creative college career.
